Part of what I love about home education is that the boys have gained some experiences that they may not have had the opportunity of if they were still in school. One such opportunity is climbing. We usually go once a month and they love it. I’m not so keen on it due to the fact the building is freezing and I’m there 2 hours waiting for them!
Over the few months that they have been going I have seen a vast improvement. They now put in and fasten their own harnesses. They tie their own ropes and belay for each other.
They are able to work towards officially recognisable awards whilst learning how to climb which is great for giving them a boost plus it’s something else they can say they have done.
All in all a wonderful activity. It builds their knowledge, it builds confidence, it builds trust and it builds friendships. What more could you want for your children?
